Position Overview

MSC Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with limited accounting experience who are eager to build a rewarding career in corporate accounting. As a Junior Corporate Accountant, you will support the finance department in managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and Australian accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.

·       Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of supporting documentation and schedules.

·       Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.

·       Assist with bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as required.

·       Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, and other statutory returns under supervision.

·       Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

·       Maintain accurate and organised digital and paper filing systems for financial documents.

·       Collaborate with other team members and provide support for audits and compliance checks.

·       Respond to internal and external queries in a professional and timely manner.

·       Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive team environment.

Skills & Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (or CPA , ACCA or working towards completion).

·       Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and Australian accounting standards.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar) is highly regarded.

·       Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.

·       Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

·       Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

·       Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

·       Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to confidentiality.
