This full-time Medical Record Coder position at Borneo Specialist Hospital Sdn. Bhd. in Kuching, Sarawak is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about medical coding and documentation. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding patient medical records to support the hospital's billing and reporting processes.

What you'll be doing

  1. Reviewing patient medical records and abstracting relevant information
  2. Assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes according to standard medical coding guidelines
  3. Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of coded data
  4. Collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
  5. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations, guidelines, and best practices
  6. Generating reports and providing feedback to improve coding processes
  7. Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical record coder in a healthcare setting
  2. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
  3. Proficient in using medical coding systems, such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
  4. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  7. Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient information
