1.   PATENT EXECUTIVE

Job Description:

• Conducting searches for prior art, patent publications or technical documents;
• Advice on patentability of inventions and/or freedom to operate;
• Drafting patent specifications in fields of technology and innovation;
• Lodgment and prosecution of domestic and foreign Patent Applications; and
• Lodgment and prosecution of Utility Innovation Applications.

Qualification / Required Skill

• Candidates must possess Degree / Masters qualification in Physics, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, or its combinations where relevant. Other specialized engineering degrees will also be considered.
• Some experience in patent drafting and patent prosecution will be required.

Required Skill

• Good written and/or drafting skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia languages.
• Detailed, meticulous and good skills at assessment, analyzing, engrossment and filing work with Government agencies.
• Ability to work under pressure as well as meet internal and official deadlines.

2.   Trademark & Industrial Design Clerk cum Managing Partner's Assistant

Job Description:

• Providing clerical and administrative support for filing and registration of trademark and industrial design applications; renewals; recordal of assignments; change of name and address, etc.
• Handling preparation of materials and documents, letters, emails and invoicing.
• Managing and tracking of deadlines.
• Conducting searches and preparing reports.
• Submissions of official documents.
• Managing of filing system, record keeping and monitoring work deadlines
• Communicating and expediting cases with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO).
• Providing regular and timely status update to clients.
• Assisting Managing Partner where necessary.

Qualification / Years of Experience

• Applicant must have at least minimum Diploma (in any discipline) / STPM / SPM with credits in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing and typing in English and Bahasa Malaysia;
• 1 - 2 years PQE
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills

• Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office/Word/Excel etc;
• Possess good communication, organization skills, file keeping and good interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision with ability to work together in a team;
• Applicants with prior experience in Intellectual Property (IP) practice are most welcome.

Years of Experience

• 1 - 2 years

3.   Chambering Student

• Candidate must have undertaken IP subjects within undergraduate law degree and have a highly keen interest in IP Law.
• Good written and communication skills, proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Good work attitude, team player, disciplined, self-motivated, ability to adapt.
• Possess own vehicle for ad hoc travelling would be an added advantage.
