JOB DESCRIPTION

The welder / fitter is in in charge of all the welding activities

He/she will also take part of the assembly of the equipment as operational worker

He/she is versatile, such, has the opportunity to lead additional missions in accordance with his skills

In some cases, welder / fitter may be required to operate commissioning or expertise missions at the client facilities (in Malaysia or abroad, even Offshore)

WORK RELATIONSHIP

The welder / fitter reports to the Workshop Lead and Manufacturing Process Engineer

TASKS (Non-exhaustive list)

· Ensuring all necessary equipment, materials and personnel needed to carry out the jobs are available when needed and ensuring prompt return of same after the operation are completed.

· Read and understand engineering / technical drawings, work off blueprints / sketches or verbal instructions to fit and assemble fabrication products / other fabrication works in accordance to such instructions / information given.

· Responsible for custom fitting / fabrication for steel structural or piping, reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, grinding and tack Welding by using various power tools and equipment such as grinders, cutters, drills, etc.

· Repair and modify semi-finished or finished products.

· To direct activities of personnel helping or assisting in the fitting process.

· To ensure full compliance with all safety rules and procedures when carrying out installation works.

· Responsible for proper housekeeping in the workshop. To maintain, upkeep, service, tidy and housekeeping of worksite premises

· Report to superior on all parts required.

· Weld components in flat and vertical (3G) positions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The welder / fitter is responsible of the welding activities

He/she is responsible for the good application of the procedure and instruction from the industrial manager and workshop lead in the strict compliance with safety rules and quality procedures

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

· Blueprint Reading: Ability to read drawing

· Knowledge in Welding: MIG, SMAW.

· Knowledge in Mechanical, Metal (Steel) Fabrication, Welding or equivalent.

· Knowledge in oxy-cutting, grinding, etc.

· Able read & write in English

· Experience in fitting works would be an added advantage

· At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

· Applicants must be willing to work in Kota Kemuning.
