Database Administrator
with a strong background in managing and maintaining open-source databases such as
MariaDB
in production environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and backup and recovery strategies, while also being proficient in automation and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, and manage databases for production and development environments.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade MariaDB 10.x/11.x and Oracle DB on Linux.
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
  • Set up and maintain master-slave or master-master replication for MariaDB.
  • Automate tasks using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Python, or Bash.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Manage cloud databases on AWS, GCP, or Azure and support production rollouts.

Required Experience:

  • Experience
    : 6+ years of hands-on experience managing Maria DB database and other open source DBs like (PostgreSQL, MySQL) in a production environment.
  • Bachelor's or master degree in information technology
  • Proficient in database performance tuning, query optimization, and storage management.
  • Strong experience with full, incremental, and binary log backups, along with disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of master-slave and master-master setups in MariaDB.
  • Proficiency with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or scripting in Python/Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with database monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with encryption, user access control, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure databases is a plus.
  • Expertise in installing and managing MariaDB and Oracle DB on Linux.
  • Soft Skills
    : Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
