Physiotherapy Manager

1. Job Purpose:
To lead, manage, and develop the physiotherapy services in the elder home care centre, ensuring high-quality, client-centred rehabilitation programs that improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall quality of life for elderly residents.
2. Key Responsibilities:
A. Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for elderly residents.
- Develop personalised treatment plans for mobility, balance, strength, post-surgery rehab, and chronic condition management.
- Provide hands-on physiotherapy treatment based on geriatric needs.
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reports.
B. Management & Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of physiotherapists and therapy assistants.
- Plan staff schedules, workload distribution, and rostering.
- Conduct training, competency assessments, and performance reviews.
- Ensure department compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with nursing, caregivers, doctors, and family members for integrated care.
C. Operational Responsibilities:
- Develop and update physiotherapy policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Manage equipment purchase, maintenance, and inventory.
- Improve service quality through audits, quality checks, and feedback mechanisms.
- Oversee referral management and ensure timely treatment delivery.
D. Programme Development:
- Create and manage group therapy programs (fall prevention, mobility classes, strengthening sessions, cognitive-movement therapy, etc.).
- Organise awareness activities for residents and staff on posture, mobility, and fall prevention.
3. Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Experience in geriatric physiotherapy is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for elderly care, mobility improvement, and fall prevention.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and able to work effectively with elderly residents.
4. Additional Competencies:
- Ability to create care plans tailored to elderly conditions (stroke, arthritis, dementia, post-operative care).
- Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and mentor junior therapists.
- Familiar with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is an advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM6, RM7,500.00 per month
