1. Academic Support

  • Provide homework supervision and coaching for primary school children (typically ages 6–12).
  • Assist children in understanding school assignments, explaining concepts in age-appropriate language.
  • Monitor children's progress, identify learning gaps, and provide remedial support when needed.

2. Lesson and Activity Facilitation

  • Plan and implement enrichment activities: reading, arts & crafts, basic science experiments, language games, or math challenges.
  • Conduct educational games and exercises that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and social skills.
  • Occasionally prepare mini-lessons or tutorials for small groups based on students' academic needs.

3. Childcare and Supervision

  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring safety, well-being, and proper conduct.
  • Manage transitions (arrival, snack time, homework, playtime, dismissal).
  • Encourage positive behavior, cooperation, and respect among children.
  • Provide emotional support, especially for children struggling with academics or social adjustment.

4. Classroom / Environment Management

  • Ensure the learning environment is safe, clean, and conducive to study.
  • Organize materials and learning resources, including stationery, educational games, and books.

5. Other Responsibilities

  • Support enrichment or holiday programs if required.
  • Occasionally assist with field trips or events, ensuring student safety and engagement.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions.

6. Skills and Qualities Required

  • Strong academic knowledge of primary school subjects.
  • Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Patient, nurturing, and empathetic personality for working with children.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with parents and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage a group of children effectively, balancing supervision and teaching.
