Qualifications
- Certified Audiometric Technician training certificate.
- Strong understanding of audiometric testing procedures and the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2149.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct audiometric testing within the valid registration period of Audiometric Test Centre (ATC)
- Ensure audiometers and related equipment are functioning properly.
- To perform daily calibration check for all audiometers in the premise.
- To complete Appendix 4 prior to audiometric testing.
- Describe the purpose and procedure of test.
- Perform audiometric test for each ear separately.
- Maintain a relevant record for each audiometer that includes calibration records.
- Ensure workers' medical information is kept confidential.
- Provide other support services for HOD and related healthcare professionals i.e Audiologist;
Notify the Director of DOSH of any changes regarding the approved ATC including;
- Appointed Audiometric Technician
- Appointed Occupational Health Doctor
- Owner of ATC
- Change in the location of static ATC
- Facilities of the static and mobile ATC
- Ensure regular maintenance, annual calibration and renewal of ATC licenses in a timely manner.
- To record audiometry data for relevant workers in mySMARTOH accurately.
- Maintain a good recordkeeping of audiometric testing.
- To submit all audiometry results to Audiologist for review at the end of the day.
- Submit a summary of all audiometric report for each calendar year to the Director General of DOSH not later than 31st January of the following year.
