Position Title: Kitchen Helper / Kitchen Assistant

Department: Back of House / Kitchen

Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment
  • Ensure all kitchen utensils and workstations are properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Dispose of waste, wash dishes, and manage recycling in accordance with hygiene standards
  • Unload and store deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO method)
  • Refill and organize kitchen supplies, condiments, and ingredients
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Assist with packing, plating, and simple cooking tasks when required
  • Support kitchen team in daily operations and during busy service periods

Skills & Qualifications:

  • No formal education required; basic kitchen experience is a plus
  • Good physical stamina; able to stand for long hours and lift heavy items
  • Team player with a positive and willing-to-learn attitude
  • Familiar with basic hygiene and food safety standards
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible with working shifts, weekends, and public holidays
