Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and Liaison
1. Lead by example providing a professional positive and constructive image to Registry staff, academic colleagues and students
2. Support the development of staff through informal and formal methods including day to day guidance and structured training, and to conduct appraisals
3. provide clear direction to staff, fostering a flexible team-working approach, establishing responsive, effective and efficient working practices and a proactive approach to new issues and challenges
4. liaise with and advise relevant officers within the University to ensure that matters relating to student conduct and appeals and related matters of institutional compliance are communicated and coordinated effectively
Student Administration
To be responsible for the service planning and development of the Registry functions including GLCO, OAR, Examination Centre and QMS and work pro-actively and collaboratively with teams across the Registry and the wider University to champion continuous improvement and enhancement of student administration and academic support services

Student Administration

1. Lead the effective operation of the Registry functions; managing the registry directly and delegating management responsibility to Assistant Registrars whilst retaining senior-level accountability and strategic oversight
2. Ensure that robust metrics and key performance indicators are devised, developed and used effectively for each of the Registry teams in support of the direction of the University
3. Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
4. Represent the University externally ensuring constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders
Campus Operations
To responsible for managing and leading all aspects of the Campus Operations team which includes AFM, Commercial Outlets, and Security, Safety and Health.
1. Ensure the smooth operation of the University campus, taking the lead in working with others to ensure that administrative and support services are efficient, effective and streamlined.
2. Lead the Operations team by ensuring the highest quality of customer service and support services for students
Manage procedures to meet operational and long-term goals in accordance to the University policies
Develop and implement systematical approaches and/or operational metrics to manage, monitor and report on performance of various aspects of the Operations
5. Monitor and maintain appearance and cleanliness of all locations and facility within area of responsibility
University Functions
1. Be responsible for the overall planning and conduct of convocation, the University's highest profile public event
2. Act as the Secretariat for the University Board of Governors and Senate meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualification in relevant discipline
• Managerial experience in the higher education sector
• Excellent communication, relationship management and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to set and communicate clear vision and expectations for programme and individual performance
