Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As the leader of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence in our facility's operations and infrastructure management.

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment
  • Oversee and manage complex engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints
  • Analyze and optimize energy consumption, implementing cutting-edge conservation measures to reduce operational costs
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize the impact of maintenance activities on daily operations
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors, ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance records, project reports, and budget forecasts
  • Respond decisively to emergency situations, coordinating necessary repairs and minimizing downtime
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and best practices in facility management and engineering
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning for facility improvements and upgrades, with a focus on sustainability and innovation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • Possess a valid A4 Chargeman Certificate
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in facility management or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering projects and maintenance operations
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety
  • Expertise in energy management and conservation techniques
  • Proficiency in project management and budgeting
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and MS Office suite
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Familiarity with Malaysian building codes and regulations
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends
  • Experience with sustainable engineering practices
  • Knowledge of local building regulations and standards in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia
