Job Description

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Guidewire Cloud Platform

What you get to do

• Operate as a start-up within a highly influential InsurTech company

• Create and maintain cloud infrastructure and tooling using AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC

• Identify, assess, and implement measures to eliminate potential risks to the infrastructure & tooling, and to ensure their reliability and stability.

• Participate in 24/7 emergency response rotations and implement strategies to minimize response times and other DevOps metrics.

• Own capacity planning exercises with the product engineering teams.

• Partner with product management and engineering leadership to set and deliver quarterly and annual goals.

• Utilize Machine Learning and Generative AI to enhance performance and reduce costs.

Required Skills

• We are looking 5+ years of experience.

• Expert in building, deploying, and managing scalable infrastructure on Kubernetes and AWS using Terraform and cloud-native tools.

• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or Java, with a focus on clean, testable code and best practices (SOLID, DRY, KISS)

• Proven experience triaging and debugging distributed systems in cloud environments.

• Skilled in defining and implementing SLI/SLOs and error budgets for reliable systems.

• Experienced in managing infrastructure configuration at scale using tools like GitOps, Puppet, or Ansible.

• Deep knowledge of cloud networking, security, and vulnerability management, with the ability to programmatically address issues.

• Demonstrated ability to embrace emerging technologies—especially AI—and apply data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
