Responsibilities:- Supervise CAD model development for fabrication accuracy.
- Approve complex CAD designs for manufacturability.
- Review 3D CAD files to validate tolerance stack-ups.
- Ensure CAD data is CAM-compatible for fabrication.
- Collaborate with toolroom to improve CAM-based cutter paths.
- Oversee CAM workholding strategies to reduce setup time.
- Ensure CAM files are stored securely and traceably.
- Supervise simultaneous machining operations.
- Coordinate multi-axis CNC jobs.
- Lead lean manufacturing initiatives in CNC sections.
- Validate precision alignment during machine setups.
- Monitor environmental control around high-precision CNCs.
- Review CMM reports and compare with CAD specifications.
- Coordinate programming of CMM using CAD models.
- Establish inspection intervals based on CMM feedback.
- Approve deviation waivers based on metrology reports.
- Drive digital transformation in the fabrication shop.
- Implement real-time production monitoring systems.
- Supervise advanced fixture and jig design for machining.
- Oversee integration of robotics with CNC/CMM processes.
- Lead cross-functional meetings with design, quality, and production teams.
- Evaluate subcontractor capability in CAM/CNC/CMM operations.
- Set safety standards around machine operations.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Lead digital transformation projects.
- Apply strong knowledge of CNC machine operations.
- Supervise multi-disciplinary fabrication teams.
- Analyze real-time data from CNC/CMM for quality and uptime tracking.
- Supervise digital dashboard creation for live job tracking.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in CNC and fabrication processes.
- Conduct time studies to improve fabrication takt times.
- Set up quality gates in CNC process stages.
- Approve investments based on quality and output data.
The required skills for the position FABRICATION SUPERINTENDENT are as follows:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in fabrication
- Hands-on experience with CNC operations
- Knowledge of CAD software
- Ability to design and enforce quality systems
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes
- Ability to manage multi-machine operations
