Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain data security across servers, databases, and applications.
  • Implement and manage backup and restore procedures (on-prem and/or cloud).
  • Perform daily/weekly backup checks and ensure backup jobs run successfully.
  • Conduct periodic restore tests to verify data recovery integrity.
  • Assist in implementing access control, user permissions, and security policies.
  • Help monitor security alerts/logs and escalate suspicious activity.
  • Support incident response (e.g. malware, ransomware, data breach) under guidance of senior staff.
  • Keep asset and backup documentation updated (backup schedule, retention, storage locations).
  • Assist in patching and updating systems related to security and backup tools.
  • Educate internal staff on basic data protection and security best practices.

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support / system administration / cybersecurity (fresh grads with strong interest are encouraged to apply).

Basic understanding of:

  • Network & system security concepts (firewalls, antivirus, access control).
  • Backup solutions (image-based, file-level, database backups).
  • Operating systems (Windows Server and/or Linux).
  • Ability to follow SOPs and maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Responsible, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential data.

Added Advantage (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with backup tools (e.g. Veeam, Acronis, Windows Backup, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SIEM/log monitoring tools.
  • Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, Network+, etc.).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM3,000.00 per month
