About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Treasury to lead the organization's global cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and financial risk management. This senior role oversees all treasury operations, ensures strong governance over cash flow, and supports strategic financial decisions across regional and international markets.

The ideal candidate comes from a medium to large MNC, is well-versed in treasury best practices, and is confident working with global finance teams — including UK and international counterparts. Mandarin proficiency is required due to heavy collaboration with China-based stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities1. Cash & Liquidity Management

  • Monitor daily cash positions across multiple entities and ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Forecast short-term and long-term cash flow requirements.
  • Optimize working capital usage to support operational and investment needs.
  • Oversee cash pooling, intercompany settlements, and treasury transfers.

2. Banking & Financial Institution Management

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with banks and external financial partners.
  • Negotiate banking fees, credit facilities, and service-level agreements.
  • Evaluate and recommend banking structures and digital treasury solutions.

3. Treasury Operations

  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of treasury transactions.
  • Maintain and enhance treasury systems (SAP / Oracle preferred).
  • Establish and enforce internal controls over treasury activities.
  • Manage FX transactions, interest payments, and hedging activities (where applicable).

4. Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate liquidity, FX, and interest rate risks.
  • Support development and execution of effective hedging strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and banking covenants.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead treasury staff across regions (where applicable).
  • Partner with accounting, FP&A, tax, and global finance teams.
  • Present treasury insights and cash flow analysis to senior management.

RequirementsEducation & Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CFA is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years' treasury or corporate finance experience in a medium-large MNC.
  • Solid background in cash management, liquidity planning, FX, and risk management.
  • Experience working across regional or global finance teams.
  • Familiar with SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise treasury modules.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of treasury instruments.
  • Excellent communication in English and Mandarin is required.
  • Well-organized, structured, and able to manage multiple entities.
  • Confident in dealing with global stakeholders and presenting to leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Willing to relocate to Shenzhen.
  • Malaysian candidates highly preferred due to cultural and communication alignment.
