Responsibilities:
- Set up, program, and operate CMM equipment to inspect and verify the dimensions and tolerances of components.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to understand part requirements and inspection criteria.
- Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections of parts produced by CNC machines and other manufacturing processes.
- Document and record inspection results, including measurements, defects, and deviations from specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant quality management systems.
- Calibrate CMM equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to engineering and production teams.
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in the development of inspection procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a QC Inspector with expertise in using CMM machines (e.g., Hexagon Global S, Zeiss, Mitutoyo, or similar).
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus.
- Experience with manual measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) is an advantage.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and calibration on CMM equipment.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical degree or certification in Quality Control, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CMM Inspector or in a similar quality control role.
- Familiarity with CMM programming (e.g., Calypso, PC-DMIS) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while operating CMM equipment.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
