Optometrist

• Provide comprehensive optometry services as per SOPs and policies such as examine patients' eyes to detect signs of ocular diseases and vision abnormalities.
• To perform optometric diagnostic tests, e.g. OCT, Visual Field, Biometry, Fundus Imaging, Hess chart, etc.
• To perform pediatric eye examination and assessment.
• Document history including complaint and relevant symptoms, ocular health, medication usage, medical and family history, current vision aide if applicable, and any other pertinent data.
• Clearly document diagnosis and treatment plan, including referrals and management in patients' medical records.
• Delivery of critical and emergency management according to the hospital's protocol and policies.
• Refer patients with the needs to Ocularist and orthoptist for prosthetic eye and vision therapy, respectively.
• Perform counselling for eye surgeries, such as laser vision correction and cataract, and provide pre- and post-operative care.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree of Optometry or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 - 3 years of working experience in clinical/hospital settings.
• Registered with Malaysian Optical Council and possess up-to-date APC.
• Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical competence required for the job. E.g. ability to translate complex technical or technological input for operation application.
