The Analytical Data Engineer (or Analytics Engineer) designs, builds, and maintains scalable data models, pipelines (ETL/ELT), and infrastructure, acting as a bridge between raw data and business insights, ensuring clean, accessible, and reliable data for analysts and scientists using tools like SQL, Python, and dbt to create dashboards and support data-driven decisions. Key duties involve data transformation, quality assurance, performance optimization, documentation, and collaborating across teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

Data Modeling & Pipeline, Data Transformation, Reporting & Visualization, Data Quality & Governance, and Optimization

Core Skills:

  • Programming: SQL, Python, potentially Scala/Java (for big data).
  • Tools: dbt, Apache Spark, Airflow, BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Concepts: Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), ETL/ELT, Data Modeling.

Experience: 5-8 years.

The job is based in Kuala Lumpur and is a 3-years contract (renewable).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM11, RM12,500.00 per month
