Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Electrical Engineer at RP (Hydro) Kelantan Sdn Bhd in Kelantan. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for monitoring and inspecting all electrical installation works at the hydropower project site to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, contractual requirements, statutory regulations, and safety guidelines. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with the electrical team, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate the safe, high-quality, and timely completion of electrical works.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical construction supervision, preferably in hydropower, power generation, or substation projects.
• Good knowledge of relevant Malaysian codes (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations, MS IEC), practices, and standards.
• Familiarity with electrical testing, commissioning procedures, and quality control.
• Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent report writing and documentation ability.
• Immediate starters preferred
• This position will be based in Dabong, Kelantan

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Inspection & Supervision

· Conduct daily inspections of all electrical installation activities, including switchgear, transformers, generators, power/control cabling, earthing, lighting, and protection systems.

· Ensure all works adhere to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and safety standards.

· Monitor and report deviations or non-conformances from design or specification requirements.

1. Quality Assurance & Compliance

· Verify electrical materials, equipment, and workmanship meet required standards and approved submittals.

· Witness and check electrical tests/commissioning (insulation resistance, continuity, primary/secondary injection, etc.).

· Coordinate with manufacturers, testing agencies, and third parties for equipment inspection, quality checks, and certification.

1. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

· Ensure all electrical installation and energization activities follow HSE regulations and best practices.

· Identify unsafe practices or hazards and support corrective actions.

· Participate in toolbox talks, HSE briefings, and safety audits as required.

1. Coordination & Reporting

· Liaise with Resident Engineer, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical/installation issues.

· Attend site meetings and inspections, providing input on progress and issues.

· Prepare daily/weekly reports with photos, progress updates, issues, and recommendations.

· Maintain accurate records of inspection checklists, test certificates, equipment histories, and site instructions.

1. Construction Progress Monitoring

· Track electrical works progress against schedule, flagging delays and recommending corrective actions.

· Verify contractor's progress claims related to completed electrical installations.

Pay: RM3, RM5,000.00 per month
