Apprentice - Procurement

Apprentice contract: 1 year contract

Job responsibilities:

• Support the procurement of goods, services, equipment, and maintenance contracts required for terminal operations (e.g., port machinery, engineering spares, logistics services).
• Assist in preparing requests for quotations, analyzing supplier responses, and supporting negotiations.
• Raise and manage purchase orders and monitor delivery timelines.
• Work with internal stakeholders included but not limited to administration, engineering, operations, and HSE teams to identify procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase history, and supplier details using procurement systems.
• Support tender processes for larger or strategic projects.
• Assist in tracking supplier performance (e.g., on-time delivery, compliance, service quality).
• Help ensure that all procurement activity follows internal policies, budgetary controls, and ethical standards.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and value-for-money reviews.
• Work closely with the finance and stores teams to resolve invoice queries and manage inventory.

Job requirements:

• Minimum currently pursuing a diploma/degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
• Good analytical skill.
• Computer literate.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
