The Café/Kitchen Crew Internship at Royal Selangor International provides candidates with immersive, hands-on experience in high-end hospitality and F&B operations. Interns will explore a career in service excellence, working closely with both team members and international visitors. Under the guidance of the Outlet Manager, daily duties are organized around supporting the essential functions of the café and kitchen, ensuring a seamless guest experience while enhancing the intern's technical and soft skills.

Key Responsibilities

Front-of-House (Café):

  • Assist in daily café operations, including hosting, taking orders, and serving food and beverages to guests.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
  • Learn and apply product knowledge regarding Royal Selangor's heritage and menu offerings to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Support the team in managing POS (Point of Sale) systems and handling basic transactions.

Back-of-House (Kitchen):

  • Assist the kitchen team in basic food preparation while adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support the plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet brand quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving and organizing supplies.
  • Participate in maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring a clean workspace.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (for simple inventory reporting or scheduling tasks).
  • A strong passion for the F&B and service industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, "people-first" attitude.
  • Willingness to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays (if applicable).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Pay: RM RM800.00 per month
