Lab Technician

Responsibilities:

• Carry out the assigned daily lab work by following the SOP.
• Prepare the water, culture medium, stock solutions, and reagents required for lab usage.
• Sterilize the containers used in medium preparation.
• Update the chemicals and reagents consumption in the lab and report to the supervisor for a refill.
• Take care of lab cleanliness, including the working area, lab apparatus, containers, etc., in the medium preparation area.
• Assist the lab supervisor in receiving the newly ordered lab items (stock in).
• Subculture the explants in the lab for multiplication and rooting. Make sure the explants are in sterile condition (free of contamination).
• Implement the observation of explant development and record daily production.
• Update the lab supervisor on the progress.
• Inspect the condition of explants to make sure they are clean.
• Record the number of explants (clean, contaminated, dead, etc.) produced by the production team members.
• Assist the lab supervisor in fine-tuning lab operations.
• Assist the lab supervisor in receiving stock explants from the HQ lab (stock in) and delivering the plantlets to the nursery (stock out)
• Prepare the weekly/monthly report on quality control.

Requirements:

• Possess at least SPM.
• Fresh graduate with plant biotechnology background are encouraged to apply.
• Able to read, write and speak in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM1, RM2,000.00 per month
