Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degrees in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, GIS, Forestry, Agriculture or related field.
  • Proven experience in remote sensing applications for plantation or agricultural sectors, preferably in oil palm.
  • Strong proficiency in GIS software (AroGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools (ENVI, ERDAS Imagine).
  • Experience in processing and analysing UAV/drone, satellite, and hyperspectral imagery.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, AI-based image processing (e.g., Faster R-CNN), and geospatial programming (Python, R) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of oil palm agronomy, plantation management, and precision plantation applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Abilities/attituded- Preferred skills: experience with geodatabase management and spatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (RSPO, MSPO) and environmental monitoring.
  • Ability to handle large-scale plantation datasets and provide actionable insights.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee asset management of oil palm plantations, including tree health assessment, stand count, and productivity mapping using remote sensing techniques.
  • Conduct land monitoring activities. Including change detection, land use classification, and environmental impact assessment.
  • Analyse high-resolution satellite imagery, UAV (drone) data, LIDAR, and hyperspectral imagery for plantations insight.
  • Develop and maintain geospatial databases related to plantation assets and land cover.
  • Support precision plantation initiatives by integrating geospatial analysis with agronomic data to optimize resource allocation, fertilization, and harvesting strategies.
  • Implement and improve remote sensing methodologies for yield estimation, disease detection, and plantation sustainability.
  • Collaborate with research teams to explore innovative geospatial applications for plantation management.
  • Provide technical support in GIS mapping, spatial analysis, and decision-making tools for plantations operations.
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability standards, regulations, and best practices using geospatial monitoring.
  • Train and support internal teams on remote sensing and GIS applications for plantation management.
