Intermediate CAD Designer (Construction & Fit-Out)

We are looking for an Intermediate CAD Designer with strong technical and design skills to support our construction and fit-out projects. This role involves producing accurate drawings, coordinating with site teams, and ensuring all designs are practical, buildable, and compliant with industry standards. You will be engaged throughout the project cycle, from initial client discussions to final handover.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design & Technical Development: Prepare design solutions that are functional, sustainable, and aligned with construction requirements and regulations.
  • Drawing & Detailing: Produce precise CAD drawings, shop drawings, and material specifications for construction and site execution.
  • Presentation & Communication: Develop 2D/3D models, layouts, and visuals to clearly present design intent to clients and contractors.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure timelines, quality, and compliance are achieved.
  • Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate project files including meeting notes, revisions, and progress reports.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth communication and problem-solving during project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an architectural, interior design, or construction environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fit-out drawings, construction detailing, and material specifications.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; 3DSMax knowledge is a plus.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office for project reporting and documentation.
  • Good understanding of building codes, local authority regulations, and construction standards.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 9AM–6PM (with flexibility for weekend site requirements).
  • Based in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur.
