Techanical Trainer/ Operations Training & Development Specialist APAC

The
Technical Trainer
plays a key role within the Learning & Development team, driving professional growth and capability building for the
Critical Facilities & Operation Engineering team
. This is a
regional role with high visibility
that operates with a strong degree of independence, managing end-to-end training design, content creation, and program delivery.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing
technical training programs in relation to Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering programmes
, conducting needs assessments, and evaluating learning effectiveness. A core part of the role includes coaching and guiding engineering and operations professionals, ensuring training materials and programs are accurate, relevant, and aligned with organizational standards.

By exercising sound judgment within established frameworks, the Technical Trainer will directly contribute to shaping the overall training strategy, while working in close partnership with internal teams and stakeholders across the APAC region. This is a high-visibility role that supports both the growth of our people and the continued excellence of our operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Content Creation:
  Develop comprehensive and clear technical training materials, manuals, and documentation tailored to site-specific needs for onboarding and upskilling Critical Facilities, Operations and Reliability Engineering team.
• Training Delivery:
  Collaborate with site teams to deliver and facilitate effective training sessions, ensuring all staff members understand and utilise the training content.
• Documentation Development:
  Assist in the creation and refinement of various document types, including training material, operational guidelines, and emergency procedures.
• Quality Assurance:
  Ensure documentation and training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and adhere to company standards and industry best practices. Perform periodic technical and quality reviews of all MOP, SOP and ERP to ensure the most up to date techniques and safety guidelines are utilized as well as compliant with government regulations.
• Operational Mindset:
  Through technical training delivery for new Trainees, Technicians and Engineers, achieve the objective of developing the technical and operational capabilities essential for managing our critical infrastructure. In parallel, cultivate a leadership mindset and embed a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational discipline.
• Documentation Review:
  Conduct regular review of written material ensuring alignment to company expectations and providing feedback and recommendations to improve documentation.
• Stakeholder Communication:
  Interface with various site teams to gather site specific information, understand their needs, and incorporate feedback into documentation and training material.
• Progress Reporting:
  Provide regular updates on the progress of documentation projects and training, tracking against completion targets to ensure delivery within target dates.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Identify opportunities for improving training delivery and documentation processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The individual may be required to undertake other duties or responsibilities in line with business needs, beyond the primary scope of this role.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
• A technical background in
  data center facility operations, engineering (aerospace, semiconductor or other manufacturing industry)
  or other related technical field.
• Experience in or understanding of critical facilities, with an operational mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  English
  , with the ability to create training content and delivery to engage effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency with technical writing, with a portfolio of previous work demonstrating strong capability.
• Prior experience in delivering training sessions and experience in creating training material is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a dynamic work environment.
• Travel is expected to be less than 25%
  , occasionally for
  training delivery purposes
  within the region.

• 5 days work week (Mon - Fri / regular working hours).
• No 1, Jalan Cyber Point 4, Cyber 8, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia
  (30-minute drive to Kuala Lumpur International Airport)
• Permanent position, on-site working arrangement model.
• Onboarding and on-the-job learning programme will be provided.
