he IT Manager will be responsible for the overall strategic planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of all information technology systems at PARKROYAL A'Famosa Melaka Resort. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless, secure, and efficient operation of all hotel systems to enhance both operational efficiency and the guest experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach essential for a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. System Operations and Maintenance

  2. Oversee the entire resort IT infrastructure, including servers, networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi), workstations, PABX/telephony systems, and data center operations.

  3. Manage and maintain critical hospitality-specific applications, including the Property Management System (PMS - e.g., Opera/Fidelio), Point of Sale (POS) systems, Central Reservation Systems, and Sales & Catering systems.
  4. Ensure the smooth and reliable operation of all guest-facing technology, such as in-room entertainment (IPTV), guest Wi-Fi, and digital signage.
  5. Implement and manage a robust preventive maintenance schedule for all IT hardware and software to minimize downtime.

  6. Network Security and Compliance

  7. Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and security procedures in line with Pan Pacific Hotels Group standards and industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS compliance for payment card security).

  8. Manage firewall, VPN, and network access to safeguard the resort's data and information assets.
  9. Oversee the implementation of anti-virus software and manage daily backup and disaster recovery processes.

  10. User Support and Vendor Management

  11. Provide high-level, efficient technical support (Tier 1 & 2) to all hotel departments and staff, resolving IT issues promptly.

  12. Manage relationships and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with external vendors and contractors for software, hardware, internet service, and system support.
  13. Conduct IT training for staff across all departments to ensure correct usage and adoption of technology systems.

  14. Strategy and Budgeting

  15. Collaborate with the resort's management team to align IT strategy with overall business objectives and future projects.

  16. Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, controlling costs and recommending new technologies for capital expenditure.
  17. Stay updated on the latest hotel technology trends and propose innovative solutions to enhance guest services and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an IT management or supervisory role, preferably within the hotel or resort industry.
  • Strong practical knowledge of PMS (e.g., Opera), POS, and PABX/Telephony systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in network administration (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, Wi-Fi) and Windows Server environments (Active Directory, virtualization).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and hospitality industry compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call to respond to critical system issues.
