Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated COBOL Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications on mainframe platforms supporting card products, including credit and debit cards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient processing of card transactions and lifecycle management. The developer will collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to implement and enhance card systems in a mission-critical environment.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Equivalent technical certifications or diploma in mainframe technologies may be considered for candidates with relevant experience
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, and VSAM
- Strong system integration skills for connecting mainframe applications with internal and external systems
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of COBOL code, batch jobs, and system processes
- Analytical problem-solving skills for resolving production and system issues
- Familiarity with banking operations and enterprise transaction processing systems
- Effective communication with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors
- Willingness to learn emerging technologies and contribute to modernization initiatives
