Senior Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a talented Senior Buyer / Buyer/ Procurement / Purchasing professional to join the team at Amphenol DC Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd. This full-time role is based in Simpang Ampat Penang and will play a crucial part in the company's manufacturing, transport and logistics operations.

What you'll be doing

• Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with suppliers to obtain the best possible terms
• Manage and maintain productive relationships with existing suppliers
• Identify new suppliers, evaluate their capabilities and negotiate favourable terms
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure continuous supply of materials and components
• Work with supplier for re-scheduling programs including expedite, de-expedite and cancellations to ensuring no past due PO
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and source the appropriate goods and services
• Analyse purchasing data and generate reports to support strategic decision making
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar purchasing, procurement or buying role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise procurement processes
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel for data analysis
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
