SAP BTP position.

Role Summary

The SAP BTP role involves designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based and hybrid solutions using the SAP Business Technology Platform. The consultant works closely with functional teams, architects, and stakeholders to extend or integrate SAP applications (e.g. S/4HANA, Fiori), automate processes, ensure platform governance, and deliver scalable, secure, and performant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Typical tasks include:

  • Solution Design & Architecture
  • Design end-to-end SAP BTP solutions in line with business requirements.
  • Architect integration flows, extension points, APIs, data migration, cloud architecture (e.g. CAP, RAP, Fiori, etc.).
  • Define technical specifications, low-level designs, and interface mappings.
  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements: performance, scalability, security, etc.
  • Development / Implementation
  • Develop extensions, apps, or integrations on SAP BTP: using CAP (Cloud Application Programming), RAP (e.g. for ABAP), UI5 / Fiori / JavaScript, or other relevant languages (Java, etc.).
  • Build integrations (real-time, batch) using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), API Management, or other integration tools.
  • Manage connectivity, subaccount setup, CI/CD pipelines, workflows, etc.
  • Participate in unit testing, code reviews, performance tuning, and ensuring code standards.
  • Platform / Infrastructure / Security
  • Manage BTP environment: subaccounts, service instances, security (including Identity & Access Management, Single Sign-On, etc.).
  • Participate in migration tasks (e.g. migrating on-premise to cloud, S/4HANA platform migrations).
  • Ensure governance, monitoring, operational support, and metrics for the platform.
  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
  • Engage with business users / functional consultants to understand requirements.
  • Work in cross-functional teams, coordinate between development, operations, security.
  • Prepare documentation (technical design, configurations, operations support, troubleshooting guides).
  • Conduct knowledge sharing / training where necessary.
  • Continuous Learning & Innovation
  • Stay updated with new SAP BTP features, best practices, and relevant cloud technologies.
  • Propose improvements, new capabilities, or optimizations.

Education
