Assistant Teacher

A Special Needs Assistant Teacher plays a critical role in supporting students with various disabilities and learning challenges, both in the classroom and in other educational environments. The job scope includes:

1. Support for Students with Special Needs:

2. Assisting in learning activities: Help students understand lessons and assignments, providing individual or small group assistance to students who require additional support.

3. Behavioral support: Support students with behavior challenges by helping them stay focused, managing any disruptive behavior, and encouraging positive behaviors.
4. Communication support: Assist students who have difficulty communicating, using methods such as sign language, communication boards, or assistive technology.

5. Personal care and physical support: Depending on the nature of the student's needs, provide help with tasks such as feeding, toileting, and mobility.

6. Collaboration with Teachers:

7. Lesson adaptation: Work with teachers to adapt lessons and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students with special needs.

8. Monitoring progress: Help track the progress of students and report back to the teacher on how well students are doing, noting areas where they may need more support.
