Role Overview:

The AI Annotator Team Leader oversees a team responsible for data annotation — the process of labeling or curating data to train, tune, and evaluate AI models. This involves supervising tasks such as labeling images, tagging text, generating educational or AI-training questions, and ensuring all annotated datasets meet accuracy and quality standards. The Team Leader ensures smooth project execution, guideline compliance, timely delivery, and continuous improvement in annotation processes.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, guide, and support a team of AI Annotators to ensure high-quality output and timely project delivery.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and conduct regular check-ins with team members.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to improve annotators' accuracy, productivity, and adherence to guidelines.

Quality Control & Review

  • Oversee and review annotations (images, text, questions, etc.) to ensure consistency, correctness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct random spot checks and develop internal QA processes to maintain high labeling quality.
  • Identify recurring errors or gaps and implement corrective action plans.

Guideline Management

  • Collaborate with project managers to interpret client requirements and convert them into clear, effective annotation guidelines.
  • Continuously refine, update, and optimize annotation standards and workflows based on project feedback and model performance.

Operational & Project Support

  • Coordinate daily operations, ensuring smooth communication between team members and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in project planning, estimation of workloads, and timeline management.
  • Support the development of scalable annotation processes and tools.

Data Handling & Compliance

  • Ensure team members follow confidentiality protocols and maintain security of sensitive information.
  • Guarantee proper handling of all data according to internal policies and client standards.
