OBJECTIVE:

To deliver engaging and effective English language teaching to primary school students, fostering literacy, communication skills, and a lifelong love for learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver English lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum for primary learners.
  • Teach core language skills, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and oral communication.
  • Prepare lesson plans and Scheme of Work using the school's established format, ensuring alignment with the Cambridge curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Assess, prepare and monitor student progress through formative and summative evaluations.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Liaise with the HoD for departmental updates, coordination of teaching responsibilities, and implementation of school policies.
  • Ensure timely marking of students' books and offer targeted feedback to support their ongoing improvement and learning.
  • Attend and actively participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings to discuss student progress, address concerns and strengthen communication between school and home.
  • Actively participate in weekly Co-curricular Activities (CCA) and carry out assigned responsibilities related to CCA programs
  • Undertake any other duties or school-related tasks as assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Education or related field
  • Familiar with the Cambridge Curriculum / Syllabus
