Job Summary

The Senior Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing the planning and scheduling activities for a specific section of construction work. Reporting to the Planning Manager/Assistant Planning Manager, the Senior Planner ensures that their section's schedules are aligned with the overall project timeline and contractual requirements. This role involves coordinating with various teams, integrating subcontractor schedules, monitoring progress, and proactively addressing risks to ensure the successful execution of their section.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Section Planning: Develop and manage detailed schedules for your assigned section of work, ensuring alignment with the overall project baseline and contractual deadlines.
  2. Progress Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the progress of work within your section, identifying deviations from the schedule and implementing corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
  3. Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors working within your section to ensure their schedules are integrated and aligned with the overall project plan.
  4. Address any scheduling conflicts or issues as they arise.
  5. Integration and Coordination: Ensure seamless integration of your section's schedule with other sections and the overall project programme.
  6. Coordinate with other Senior Planners to manage interdependencies and avoid conflicts.
  7. Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on the status of your section to the Planning Manager/Assistant Planning Manager and the HQ Planning Team. Highlight key milestones, risks, and any issues affecting the schedule.
  8. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues affecting the schedule of your section. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure timely project delivery.
  9. Digital Tools Utilization: Use project management software and digital platforms to track progress, update schedules, and communicate with project stakeholders.
  10. Ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  11. Meeting Participation: Attend and contribute to relevant project meetings, including progress and coordination meetings.
  12. Represent your section and provide updates on schedule status and any concerns.
  13. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within your section's planning activities.
  14. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance scheduling efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the company
  16. Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Project Management/Relevant Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 5 years working experience
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex schedules and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in preparing detailed reports and presenting information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
