About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team at JURUKUR BAHAN PSZ' in Alor Setar, Kedah. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. This role involves working closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective and efficient project delivery. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and contribute to the success of our growing construction business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
  • Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of works in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
  • Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQs), and procurement advice.
  • Evaluate and negotiate tenders and contract terms with contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Manage change control processes, including assessment of variations and claims.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in value engineering exercises to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Undertake cost audits and final account settlements.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and other professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide accurate and timely reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g., PWD203A, PAM Contract 2018)
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel).
