Junior Software Engineer

What's the role?

It's an incredibly exciting time to join the Hilti Digital Platforms team We are redesigning the future of digital at Hilti and are looking for new team members to play an integral part in our digital transformation journey.

You will support the team either in Backend Development, Frontend Development, Quality Assurance or Software Support.

What does the role involve?

Based on your interests and skills, you will be matched with one of the following areas:

Backend Development

• Involved in backend implementation using Java with Spring Boot.
• Apply clean code principles and contribute to testing.
• Diagnose issues, optimize performance, and contribute to product design discussions.
• Present solutions to technical leadership and collaborate across teams.

Frontend Development

• Develop frontend features using Angular, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Apply clean code practices and contribute to testing.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve UI performance.
• Participate in design discussions and share technical ideas.

Quality Assurance

• Develop and execute test strategies and plans, write test cases, and perform both manual and automated testing.
• Debug, define corrective actions, and review system requirements.
• Track quality metrics and monitor development stages to ensure product quality.

Software Support

• Provide application support via ServiceNow ticketing.
• Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain code within the Hilti e-commerce platform.
• Create documentation of processes and case studies to create a knowledge base.

What You Need Is
To help you succeed, we'll provide you with everything you need so that we're driving impact together from day one. You'll find a stable working environment, exceptional support, learning and development, and a great team around you. Here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Exposure to any of the following technologies is a plus: Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, API development, , Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Good English communication, an agile mindset, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
