Key Responsibilities

The Account Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, reconcile statements, and assist in preparing weekly payment runs.
  • Bookkeeping: Accurately input financial transactions (payments) into the accounting system.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and general ledger/cash book account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Expense Management: Prepare and handle petty cash and process employee expense reports for reimbursement.
  • Reporting Support: Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation of basic financial schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Filing & Audit: Maintain a highly organized, secure, and accurate filing system for all financial records to ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications and Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Education: Minimum Diploma or Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of proven experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Software Skills: Hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Soft Skills: High level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and unquestionable integrity.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Active pursuit of a professional accounting certification (e.g., AAT, CAT, LCCI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with vendors and clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM3,200.00 per month
