PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY

Resource Utilization

  • Prepare, coordinate, allocate and perform the plan on resource utilization in relation to manpower (in-house and subcon), tools, equipment and facilities in the workshop to meet contractual requirements comprising technical specifications, schedule, productivity and customer satisfaction with the objective of achieving project deliverables.
  • Motivate and guide the team to ensure timely, efficient completion of overhaul and services jobs at the workshop.

Work Scheduling

  • Prepare detail workshop work schedule and progressively monitor its effectiveness by tracking the progress daily to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Identify potential delays in workshop operations and prepare contingency plans for any task delays related to planned activities in direction to project can be delivered as expected.
  • Ensure all workshop activities, material usage, variation/additional works, work requisition, inter work requisition (IWR) and manpower deployment-Toolbox Talk card (TBT) are properly documented and updated in both hardcopy and digital platforms allowing for full traceability where applicable.

Project Management

  • Coordinate and execute work activities among all stakeholders in assigned Project, including subordinates (e.g., Project Superintendent, Team Leaders, SCM, Subcontractors, Client, etc.), in matters related to planning and scheduling, work allocation and execution, progress monitoring, technical issues, as well as quality and safety compliance.

Job Execution

  • Coordinate, execute and control job execution to ensure tasks are performed to meet business targets in terms of schedule, quality, safety, budget, clients' specification and customer satisfaction with the objective of ensuring efficient and cost-effective implementation in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Analyse technical issues by studying drawings and manuals carefully, making informed decisions in consultation with the Head.
  • Assess and identify critical or non-standard activities, ensuring proper attention and control measures are applied.

Customer Relation

  • Maintain and cultivate professional relationship with PMT as internal client as well as clients and third-party representatives such as Classification Surveyor and etc with the objective to deliver services that meet customers satisfaction.

Policies and Procedure

  • Execute and ensure compliance with Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) to adhere / comply with Integrated Management System (IMS), Work Instruction (WI) Manual, Quality Management System (QMS), ISO standard, industry best practices / statutory requirements and safe work practices in the workshop.
  • Produce RFI and submit the Inspection Reports / Test Records to provide required evidence for compliance to the policies and procedures as well as to recommend corrective actions, if required, to keep Head / PMT informed for further action.

HSE Requirement

  • Execute HSE compliance processes and procedures within the workshop such as Permit To Work (PTW), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) issuance for specific task.
  • Monitor and control the enforcement of HSE in the workshop, inculcate HSE in all its work areas and among its staff / workers to ensure compliance with HSE requirements and to develop HSE as the MMHE Marine Repair work-culture.

Database Management

  • Monitor, collate, update and submit the departmental information update comprising information related to productivity indicator(s), inspection reports, lesson learn for review, analysis and timely submissions, on a project basis.

Subcontractor Management

  • Request for sub-contractors, in consultation with Head, monitor and track the job execution done by subcontractors.
  • Verify the completion of sub-contractors' work and ensure the accuracy of the final job done.
  • Evaluate the performance (specifically in Workshop) of both local and specialist subcontractors, in collaboration with the Sub-Contracting (SCM) team, to ensure compliance with MMHE's required specifications in terms of quality, safety, schedule, and cost-effectiveness.

Training and Development Programs

  • Attended training & proficiency development programs / refresher courses, in consultation with Head, to establish a culture of continual improvement and enhance professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education : At least a Degree in Engineering or equivalent OR minimum Diploma in Engineering discipline or equivalent with relevant experiences.

Experience : Minimum 3 years working experience in Marine Operations or engineering field.
