Finance Manager

high-growth SaaS company in the education technology space
, on a mission to digitalise learning across Southeast Asia is hiring. With a strong presence across multiple regional markets and a rapidly scaling subscription business, the company is now seeking a
Finance Manager
to lead its financial operations and support regional expansion.

This is not a pure accounting role. We are looking for a
strategic, SaaS-savvy finance partner
who understands the commercial drivers behind subscription businesses, investor expectations, and growth metrics.

What You'll Do

As the Finance Manager, you will lead regional finance operations while partnering closely with the CEO and leadership team.

1. Financial Operations & Month-End Closing

2. Lead full monthly closing for Malaysia (HQ) and Singapore (subsidiary).

3. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with local standards.
4. Manage general ledger, revenue recognition, accruals, deferred income, and cost allocations.
5. Work closely with auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries.

6. Maintain financial controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks.

7. SaaS Metrics, Analytics & Insights

You must be confident with key SaaS financial and operational metrics, including:

• MRR / ARR movements & cohort trends
• Churn & retention analysis
• LTV, CAC, CAC payback period
• Gross margin & contribution margin
• Rule of 40 performance
• Expansion revenue & net revenue retention (NRR)
• AR aging & cash collection efficiency
• Revenue recognition rules specific to subscription businesses
• Translate raw financial numbers into actionable insights.
• Identify churn risks, pricing opportunities, and margin improvements.

• Support the CEO in preparing SaaS-focused performance decks for investors.

• FP&A, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.

• Prepare weekly/monthly financial forecasts (cashflow, burn rate, runway).

• Model different revenue growth scenarios and unit economics.

• Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

• Advise the CEO and leadership team on financial strategy and market signals.

• Evaluate ROI of new initiatives, markets, and product launches.
• Support fundraising activities, due diligence, and investor Q&A.

• Benchmark operational efficiency against SaaS industry standards

• Investor Reporting & Board Updates

• Prepare clear, concise, investor-grade reports & presentations.

• Highlight KPIs, variances, forecasts, and key insights.
• Support monthly/quarterly CEO–investor updates.
• Communicate complex financial concepts in a simple, data-backed manner.

Who You Are

This role suits someone who is
stepping into a regional Finance Manager role from a Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager position
, with strong SaaS exposure.

Must-Haves:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience
  , with
  2–3 years in a SaaS / subscription-based company
• Strong understanding of
  MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, CAC, Rule of 40
• Hands-on experience in
  month-end closing and consolidation
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets financial modelling skills
• Experience preparing reports for
  CEO, founders, or investors
• Strong analytical, commercial, and strategic thinking

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with accounting systems (SQL is an advantage)
• Startup, tech, or high-growth environment exposure
• Ability to explain financials to non-finance stakeholders clearly
