Our client is an international logistics organisation is currently looking for GM, Airfreight to be based either in Penang or KLIA (Sepang, Selangor).    As the Head,Airfreight, the candidate manages end -to -end air freight operations whiledriving sales growth and achieving volume targets for the Air Division. Thisrole combines operational excellence with commercial leadership, ensuringefficient service delivery, strong customer relationship and competitive market positioning.  1.  Sales & Volume Growth·       Develop and implement sales strategies to meet orexceed revenue, GP, and volume targets for the Air Freight Division. ·       Develop Sales Team, Identify and secure new businessopportunities in air freight, including trade lane development. ·       Prepare competitive quotations, negotiate rates, andprovide tailored solutions to clients, attend RFQBuild and maintain strong relationships with airlines, consolidators, and key customers to secure favorable terms andcapacity.Track market trends, competitor activities, and rate movements to maintain competitive positioning. 2.  Air Freight Operations Management·       Lead the daily execution of import and export air freight shipments, from booking and documentation to cargo delivery. ·       Freight procurement, manage carrier space allocations,rate negotiations, and flight schedules to meetcustomer requirements. ·       Monitor and resolve operational issues such as delays, documentation errors, and shipment discrepancies.·       Preferably with strong airline knowledge.·       Ensure compliance with IATA regulations, customs requirements, and company SOPs. 3.  Team Leadership & Development·       Supervise, coach, and mentor the air freight team to achieve both operational and commercial objectives.·       Allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely service delivery.·       Conduct performance appraisals, set clear KPIs, and provide ongoing training for team members.·       Promote a collaborative, customer -first culture within the division. 4.  Financial & Performance Management·       Monitor operational profitability, ensuring cost control and accurate revenue recognition.·       Prepare and review sales forecasts, volume reports, and operational performance metrics.·       Ensure timely and accurate billing, credit control, and payment follow -up. Requirements·     Minimum 8 years working experience in Air Freight forwarding logistics with strong  experience in leading sales growth.·     Fluent in English, both oral and written. Able to converse in Mandarin is an added advantage.·     Ability to identify potential market segments.·     Sales experience in related FMCG environment/ Modern Trade / GeneralTrade with managing people experiences
