About the Role
Join our Manufacturing Engineering and New Energy Plant leadership teams and play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and cross-functional coordination. These positions support senior management in decision-making, technical project monitoring, and ensuring seamless execution of high-impact activities that directly contribute to Proton's transformation journey.
Position 1: Special Officer to Director, Manufacturing Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director in planning, coordinating, and monitoring technical and operational initiatives within Manufacturing Engineering.
- Provide technical support and analysis for engineering projects, system upgrades, and process improvements.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and decision papers to support strategic discussions and management reviews.
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
- Monitor progress of engineering projects, new model introductions, and technical readiness.
- Support the development and execution of kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders for technical matters.
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronic, Manufacturing, or related fields).
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, facilities, or production systems.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and organizational discipline.
- Analytical, resourceful, proactive, and able to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a kaizen mindset.
Position 2: Special Officer to Deputy Director, New Energy Plant
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Deputy Director in driving plant-wide initiatives for Proton's New Energy (EV/NEV) operations.
- Coordinate projects related to new technologies, plant readiness, energy management, and production capability alignment.
- Track key performance indicators, operational results, and project milestones for management reporting.
- Assist in preparing briefing notes, technical papers, executive summaries, and high-level presentations.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment on strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement, cost optimization, and system enhancement.
- Perform research and benchmarking related to EV manufacturing trends, best practices, and industry standards.
- Degree in Engineering, Energy, Industrial, or any relevant technical field.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, technical operations, or EV-related projects is an advantage.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent analytical thinking, reporting skills, and attention to detail.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to support fast-paced decision-making environments.
