As a Senior Cost Accountant, the role's responsibilities are as such:

  • Product cost/ Productivity measurement
  • COGS actuals & variances
  • CAR analysis, make-buy analysis
  • Month end close activities monitoring
  • Inventory Valuation & Standard setting
  • PPV and Config Var. Accounting
  • Coordinate yearly physical inventories count
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on audit related matters.
  • Supports operations and financial analysis group in product line reporting & product costing
  • Provides specialized or general analysis support in various accounting functions and prepares reports.
  • Develops and implements accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls.
  • Submission of monthly statistics survey reports to Dept. of Statistics Malaysia.
  • Provides work leadership to lower level accounting personnel on routine or special assignments and projects.  May review their progress and work for accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.

For this position, the candidate must ideally meets the following requirements:

  • Requires a degree in Business/Accounting with at least 3-5 years of combined professional and industrial accounting experience (manufacturing industry) or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or their equivalent.
  • Familiarity with costing, accounting, and enterprise reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Dedicated approach, able to work independently and collaborate with all pertinent internal teams and external business partners.
