Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
  • Operate smooth drum, padfoot, or pneumatic rollers for compaction tasks.
  • Compact soil, sub-base, base-course, and asphalt layers as per project specifications.
  • Ensure uniform compaction and surface finish across the work area.
  • Follow roller patterns and compaction sequences instructed by the Site Engineer.
Site Work
  • Assist in road construction, pavement works, embankments, and general earthworks.
  • Coordinate with paver operators, grader operators, and survey teams.
  • Monitor moisture levels and adjust compaction techniques as required.
Safety & Compliance
  • Operate the roller following safety standards and site rules.
  • Conduct daily checks on vibration systems, brakes, fuel, and fluid levels.
  • Report any mechanical issues or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain safe distances from workers and other equipment.
Maintenance
  • Keep the roller clean and perform basic lubrication.
  • Support scheduled maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 1–3 years experience operating road rollers (construction or roadwork).
  • Valid equipment operator license or certification.
  • Knowledge of compaction methods and material behavior.
  • Ability to follow grade lines and compaction instructions.
  • Good coordination, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
