Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting the protection of critical OT systems, including signaling systems, communication systems, and related infrastructure. This role involves real-time monitoring for cyber threats, assisting in security incident investigations, and performing basic risk and vulnerability assessments. It also includes maintaining security tools and supporting the implementation of controls to help ensure that rail operations remain safe, secure, and compliant.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in real-time monitoring of signalling, communications, and control systems to detect cybersecurity threats or anomalies.
  • Support Senior Engineers during cybersecurity incidents by collecting data, documenting actions, and helping with response procedures.
  • Perform basic assessments to identify potential weaknesses in OT systems and support mitigation efforts.
  • Support, maintenance and operate OT security tools (e.g., monitoring platforms, log management, vulnerability scanners).
  • Assist in deploying and verifying security controls in line with policies and procedures to protect rail infrastructure.
  • Participate in tasks related to ensuring adherence to rail cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62443, CLC/TS 50701, ISMS ).
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and teams to ensure cybersecurity measures align with operational needs.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, incident logs, and assessment reports.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

  • Minimum diploma in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Control Systems, or equivalent.
  • Entry-level cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps Associate, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year exposure to cybersecurity principles, industrial control systems, or IT/OT environments is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of rail systems (Signalling, Communication System, M&E) is an advantage
  • Experience on OT Security real-time monitoring and detection on threats within OT networks.
  • Basic knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, or others relevant to rail systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and standards relevant to critical infrastructure (e.g., IEC

  • Basic knowledge of OT protocols and cybersecurity tools is an advantage.
