Job Overview:

We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Barista/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages while also assisting with basic kitchen duties, food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

Barista Duties:

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including espresso, coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and seasonal offerings
  • Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to all customers
  • Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the coffee station and dining area
  • Keep track of stock and communicate supply needs

Kitchen Assistant Duties:

  • Assist in basic food preparation (e.g., sandwiches, salads, pastries)
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen according to food safety standards
  • Wash dishes, clean surfaces, and dispose of waste appropriately
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service times
  • Restock supplies and ingredients as needed

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, or kitchen is preferred but not essential (training provided)
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation and food hygiene practices is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
