Job Summary
As a
Merchandising Analyst
, you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, managing the inventory and sales performance across various product categories. You will ensure the appropriate stock levels, facilitate stock replenishment, and contribute to the optimization of the product assortment. You will play a key role in data analysis, reporting, and supporting merchandising decisions to meet sales goals and improve product availability across showrooms.
Job Responsibility
- Track weekly sales and inventory levels to ensure optimal stock, prevent stockouts, and maintain alignment with business objectives, including daily monitoring and updates of critical gold stock levels.
- Initiate weekly stock replenishment for top-selling items and coordinate inter-transfers between showrooms (weekly and during events) to maintain inventory balance and meet customer demand.
- Maintain and monitor annual stock turn targets to ensure efficient turnover and minimize deadstock, while accurately tracking all order placements and inter-transfers.
- Monthly, identify slow-moving products and develop clearance proposals; quarterly, prepare lists for potential product discontinuation in collaboration with the merchandising team.
- Perform showroom visits to assess inventory, product performance, and merchandising, preparing detailed reports with actionable suggestions for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, and annual sales and inventory analysis reports that offer insights and recommendations. This includes preparing purchase forecasts for new and current collections based on sales trends and promotional plans.
- Allocate new stock to showrooms based on demand and performance, and prepare ad-hoc sales analyses and presentations for senior management.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in merchandising or inventory management, preferably in retail or the jewelry industry.
- Previous experience working with sales and inventory analysis, replenishment, and product assortment management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools is a plus.
- Strong ability to analyse sales and inventory data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve inventory management and product turnover.
- Knowledge and experience in inventory management, stock replenishment, and inter-stock transfers.
- Familiarity with stock turnover metrics and the ability to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate stock tracking, reporting, and decision-making.
