Job Title: Sr. Project Engineer

Job Role: Commissioning Manager

Job Overview:

The Commissioning Manager is responsible for defining, planning, coordinating and executing the

testing and commissioning aspect of a project deliverables. You will ensure that all physical

deliverables are designed, installed and functionally tested according to the project specifications,

owner's requirements and industry standards. Your expertise will be pivotal in the timely completion

and handing over of the constructed system to the end-user in a fully operational and compliant

state.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commissioning Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement the overall Project Commissioning Plan, including schedules,

budgets and resource allocation.

Represent the company in commissioning meetings with clients, consultants, main

contractors, other trade contractors and internal teams.

Review design documents (BOD, specifications, drawings) early to ensure systems are

commissionable and meet project requirements.

1. Process Management & Execution:

Lead and witness applicable pre-functional checks and functional performance tests (FPT).

Manage the start-up and energization sequences for critical equipment and systems.

Identify, track and manage the resolution of deficiencies and punch list items through to

closure.

Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures.

1. Documentation & Reporting:

Oversee the creation and maintenance of all commissioning documentation, including logs,

checklists, test reports and issue tracking logs.

Prepare commissioning reports to project leadership and the client.

Compile and hand over the complete commissioning package, including system manuals and

as-built drawings to the owner for operational use.

1. Team Leadership & Coordination:

Lead and mentor a team of commissioning engineers and technicians.

Act as the primary point of contact for all commissioning-related matters for the client,

design team and construction team.

Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving between multiple trade contractors

and stakeholders.

1. Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, building codes and

industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE).

Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.

8-10 years of progressive experience in construction, testing, and commissioning of complex

facilities.

Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in a lead commissioning role (Commissioning Manager,

Lead CxA, or similar).

Demonstrated experience with commissioning a variety of systems, with deep expertise in at

least two: HVAC, Electrical Distribution, Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), Plumbing, or

Fire/Life Safety.

Experience in data centers, healthcare, pharmaceutical and/or manufacturing is highly preferred.

In-depth knowledge of commissioning processes and industry standards such as ASHRAE

Guideline 0-2019, ASHRAE Standards 202 and others.

Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and sequence of operations.

Strong understanding of building codes and HSE regulations.

The commissioning manager may work in an office environment but may also need to travel to

project sites or meet clients and stakeholders. The role may involve working outside of standard

office hours to meet project deadlines or resolve critical issues
