About the Role

A regional Private Equity firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join their investments team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting market research, and supporting deal execution. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals and gain exposure to all aspects of the private equity investment process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling & Analysis
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including leveraged buyout (LBO) models.
  • Analyze financial statements and assess key performance indicators to evaluate investment viability.
  • Conduct valuation analyses using various methodologies (DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables).
  • Market Research & Mapping
  • Perform comprehensive market mapping to identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential investment targets.
  • Develop sector-specific insights to support investment theses.
  • Investment Evaluation & Execution
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support due diligence processes including commercial, financial, and operational assessments.
  • Company Briefing & Monitoring
  • Prepare company briefing notes summarizing key business metrics, strategic positioning, and investment rationale.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and provide analytical support for value creation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • 2–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate finance.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
