About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Production Manager to join our dynamic team at Steel Centre (M) Sdn Bhd in Senai, Johor. As a full-time position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimising our production processes to ensure we consistently meet our operational and business goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Production Manager in planning, scheduling and coordinating all production activities to maximise efficiency and productivity
  • Monitor production output, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective measures to maintain optimal workflow
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring raw materials and supplies are available to meet production targets
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain high standards of product quality
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the production team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Analyze production data and generate insightful reports to support decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Ensure compliance of ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001
  • Maintain 5S at production Floor
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintaining accurate records and reports of production activities.
  • Check and ensure all production machines and equipment are in good working and safe condition.
  • Undertake any other tasks or assignments as directed by management from time to time.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar production management. preferably in the manufacturing field
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling and inventory control principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with a good grasp of relevant software tools
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field
