Malaysia Ambu Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

The Purpose of the Risk & Compliance Specialist position is to support the Head of Risk & Compliance, Global Risk & Compliance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Ambu Compliance Management System and Programs, including promotion, monitoring and auditing compliance with the applicable national laws and regulations, industry standards and Ambu Code of Conduct, Policies, and Procedures, and to act as the focal point of risk management, business ethics and compliance activities in Malaysia.

Responsibility :

Strategical level:

  • Assist the Head of Global Risk & Compliance on providing reports on a regular basis to Ambu's Executive Management and the Ambu's Board of Directors.
  • Support the management teams in Malaysia in relation to risk management, business continuity, integrity and business ethics & compliance
  • Serve as chair of the relevant Local Compliance Committees, including scheduling meetings and developing meeting agendas.

Tactical level:

  • Work with Malaysia management teams to ensure all areas of risk are properly mitigated in each country and territory and the allocation of resources appropriately matches the level of risk.
  • Analyze existing and new compliance risk areas and trends.
  • Conduct compliance country reviews and develop mitigation plans for specific countries.
  • Be a trusted advisor and business partner to the business.
  • Develop, maintain, and disseminate written policies and procedures to address existing and new compliance risk areas.
  • Develop, coordinate, and document Ambu's annual and targeted compliance-related educational and training programs, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
  • Assist, respond to and investigate alleged and suspected violations of laws and regulations, industry standards, The Ambu Code of Conduct, Policies and Procedures, conduct root cause analysis and take documented corrective action, including disciplinary action, where appropriate, and oversee a system of uniform handling of such violations.
  • Identify, propose, and implement appropriate technology and compliance assurance systems to facilitate compliance with current and future laws, rules and regulations internationally.
  • Contribute to global compliance projects and initiatives as part of the Global Risk & Compliance department
  • Oversee national compliance programs, ensuring close collaboration with local management and compliance representatives from relevant regional production sites within the designated region to maintain adherence to regulatory standards and other components of the Compliance Management System.

Operational level:

  • Promote risk management, integrity, ethical behavior and compliance in Ambu, among our business partners.
  • Support quarterly risk reporting and ongoing business continuity planning at local level.
  • Promote the use of the Ambu's Speak Up – Integrity Line
  • Support the legal team in maintaining compliance with anti-trust/competition and Data Privacy laws and regulations.
  • Identify, mitigate and control risks related to third parties.
  • Be a subject matter expert on:
    • Code of Conduct and other global compliance policies
    • Anti-bribery/anti-corruption law
    • Transparency regulations
    • Regional and local Industry Standards and regulations (e.g., AMMI)
    • Compliance best practices
  • Conduct ongoing internal and external monitoring and/or auditing to assess continued adherence to the Compliance Policies and Procedures.

Qualification & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, internal controls, or a related governance function.
  • Preferably within a multinational company or regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or manufacturing).
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing or supporting Compliance Management Systems, Risk Assessments, and Business Ethics Programs.
  • Experience conducting compliance investigations, audits, or reviews, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
