Job Description:

The Production Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production while meeting quality, safety, and cost targets. This role requires strong leadership to optimize workflows, manage teams, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning & Execution:

  2. Develop and meet production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of products.

  3. Monitor daily output, adjust resources (labor, materials, equipment) to meet demand.

  4. Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

  5. Team Management:

  6. Lead, train, and motivate production supervisors and line workers.

  7. Conduct performance reviews and address productivity or behavioral issues.

  8. Quality & Compliance:

  9. Enforce strict quality control standards (e.g., ISO, SIRIM) and troubleshoot defects.

  10. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.

  11. Cost & Inventory Control:

  12. Manage production budgets and reduce operational costs without compromising quality.

  13. Oversee raw material inventory and coordinate with procurement/supply chain teams.

  14. Maintenance & Safety:

  15. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment uptime and preventive maintenance.

  16. Promote a culture of safety through training, audits, and incident investigations.

  17. Continuous Improvement:

  18. Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.

  19. Analyse production data (OEE, downtime) to drive decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years in production management (industry-specific experience preferred).

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MS Office, and production software.

  • Soft Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution.
